JUVÈDERM^TM Juvéderm^TM is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. When injected under the skin Juvéderm^TM instantly restores your skin's volume and smooths away facial wrinkles and folds, like your "smile lines" or "parentheses" (nasolabial folds - the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Juvéderm^TM injectable gel is available in two formulations - Juvéderm^TM Ultra for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and Juvéderm^TM Ultra Plus, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. Juvéderm remains in your skin for six to nine months, or even longer. No allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment. The most common areas for treatment are the lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). A simple, 30 minute procedure, the most commonly reported side events are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site that typically resolves within a day or two. There is minimal recovery time, you can return to work or normal activities immediately. As with all injections, there is always the possibility of getting a small bruise at or near the injection site. Not taking blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, etc. will help reduce your risk.
