GENERAL FAQs
Surgery How do I prepare for surgery? Dr. Lacombe will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding certain vitamins and medications. Carefully following these instructions will help your surgery go more smoothly. While you're making preparations, be sure to arrange for someone to drive you home after your surgery. Where will my surgery be performed? All surgical procedures are performed in Dr. Lacombe's certified, office-based surgical suite; non-surgical procedures are provided in the office-based procedure room. All procedures are done on an outpatient basis. If you live more than half an hour away from the office, Dr. Lacombe requests that you stay locally if you have a surgical procedure. What is the difference between local and general anesthesia? With local anesthesia, you'll usually be lightly sedated, and your procedure area and the surrounding area will be numbed; you'll be awake, but relaxed and insensitive to pain. With general anesthesia, you'll sleep through the operation and will breath on your own. Will insurance cover my procedure? Dr. Lacombe does not take insurance. Skin Care & Sun Screens Which skin care products do you recommend? We highly recommend the Kinerase® brand of products as they offer gentle, yet effective skin care regimen scientifically shown to improve the appearance of skin aging, sun damage, blotchiness and roughness. Information about their latest products is available on their website www.kinerase.com. These products are available in our office. Which sun blocks do you recommend? By now you know that the first line of defense against premature aging is sunscreen. The sun's UVA rays penetrate the skin and are considered the chief culprit behind wrinkling. The entire UV spectrum, UVA & B, cause skin cancer. Zinc oxide and Titanium Dioxide are effective against UVB and the entire range of UVA rays. Dr. Lacombe offers many options for sunscreen containing these ingredients. The sunscreen protection ranges from a SPF of 30 to 60 or total block. Stop by the office to see the variety of sun screens we have to offer. |
