Noticeable signs of aging are often visible in the forehead and eyebrow region. Looseness in these areas may cause drooping eyebrows, eyelid hooding, forehead furrows, and frown lines. In addition to the visible signs of aging, these effects can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. With a brow lift, Sonoma County facial plastic surgeon Dr. Victor Lacombe can smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows, and improve the appearance of frown lines.
Dr. Lacombe has devoted his career to providing advanced techniques for improving the aging face. To learn more about brow lift surgery, you can request your complimentary consultation with Dr. Lacombe online or call his office at (707) 577-8292. At his office in Santa Rosa, Dr. Lacombe sees men and women from throughout Northern California including Marin County and Sonoma County for brow lift surgery.
Brow Lift Basics
A brow lift is performed to minimize the visual effects of aging and results in a more alert and refreshed look. While this treatment is most commonly performed on individuals between the ages of 40 and 60, it can also help individuals of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress, premature aging, or inherited conditions.
When it is performed by Dr. Lacombe in Santa Rosa, the brow lift procedure is individualized for each patient. Working with you, he will select the technique to best meet your needs and surgical goals.
Recent advances in brow lift surgery make it possible to perform the procedure using an endoscope (a tiny camera with a light attached), allowing Dr. Lacombe to use only tiny incisions hidden in the hairline. Some patients who have short hair choose to let their hair grow longer before surgery, so that it is long enough to hide the incisions while they heal. For patients who are bald or have a receding hairline, Dr. Lacombe will simply move the incision area to a more suitable location.
While you will be up and about in a day or two after surgery, you should plan on taking it easy for about a week. Most people can return to work or school within a week or less, though it is recommended that you avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks. You will be able to shower and shampoo your hair as soon as the bandage is removed, usually within a day or two of the procedure.
You Have Options
A brow lift may be performed alone, or in conjunction with other facial plastic surgery procedures such as face lift, neck lift, and/or eyelid surgery. Sometimes, patients who feel they need upper eyelid surgery find that a brow lift better meets their surgical goals. Additionally, some patients choose to maintain or complement their brow lift with non-surgical wrinkle reduction with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
